Recap: True North (11/8/09) w/ Spring of Life Video

Well, it was another very powerful morning this past week as we focused on Elijah and Elisha. The idea was following. The question was, “How well are you following?” Elisha continually said, “I’m not leaving you.” You may remember as we spoke about Ruth who said, “where you go, i will go and your people will be my people.” The Lord has given us grace and mercy, but that doesn’t make any less of his calling on our lives to be lead AND follow. Have we settled into a mediocre, church lifestyle with no real action? As you can imagine, it wasn’t the most “feel good message”, but then again, the things we need to hear can more often be convicting than uplifting. It was a powerful morning with many people moved into action!

We practiced a really cool transition straight from We Prepare the Way into the intro of Reign In Us, after which we played the whole song out. They were both in the same key and it worked really smoothly.

Classic. so… this guy, filling in for an anchor who usually works the position suffered at the hands of an inexperienced teleprompter operator. When the inexperienced teleprompter worker started fast forwarding through his lines… the following disaster ensued.

The Arcade Fire is one of my favorite bands of all times. And, although this song is almost 6 years old now, it is still one of my favorite songs. I think this song is one of the best songs of the decade. And the live show doesn’t dissapoint. You may recognize this track of Spike Jonze’ latest, Where The Wild Things Are. Enjoy.

I remember these from when I was in high school. This church Vintage 21 did a series on the misconceptions of Jesus. And they created these videos to show what Jesus was not like.

I Am Second is a movement. When you go to their site you will find a slew of videos featuring, prominent and not-so-prominent people with stories to tell. There is a reason why we are all here on this earth. We all have questions, and we all are looking for some answers… I Am Second has created an avenue for people to realize that they are not alone, to realize their purpose, and to join a community of broken people (all of us) that are finding life in their weaknesses and in their true surrender. Pretty cool stuff.
